These uniquely innovative, focused tasting programs permit members around the world and in the comfort of their own locations, to simultaneously taste, analyze and evaluate specific teas related to type or topic. Topics can range from understanding production defects, different manufacturing styles, different tea bush cultivars, etc. Cupping Events evaluate specific teas from key producing regions, for example First Flush Darjeelings from select estates.

Kits usually include: 2 ounce (57 gram) samples of typically 8 to 10 teas; tea cupping set, tea tasting terminology chart, cupping evaluation log forms, thermometer, gram scale, water pH test strips, specific cupping procedures and extremely detailed information on each sample. Cupping comments are posted on the ITCC Community Board and after being combined, are supplied to the producers who can use the comments to improve their quality and better serve consumer preferences.
