Dan Cong Oolongs 2017

Registration for this Cupping Event is Closed.

This Cupping Event will compare several Dan Cong oolong teas. Meaning "single cluster", all Dan Cong's come from the same small geographic region of the Fenghuang (Phoenix) Mountains in Northern Guangdong province, China. Produced for more than 300 years, Dan Congs are quickly becoming popular outside China. Tastes can range from honey, fruity, floral, nutty, even one named Duck Poop! Differences are a result of which leaves are picked, how old the bush is, bush cultivar, local soil, make-up and terroir, altitude, plucking season and even weather conditions around the time of plucking. Of course, the skill of the tea maker is a major contributor to the final product.
